The Staff Accountant reports to the Director of Accounting. This position is responsible for the daily, weekly, and period-end close tasks and activities of the general ledger and financial reporting functions. This position is responsible for the timely and accurate financial accounting and reporting at the restaurant and corporate levels. This position also assists with financial analysis, reporting to senior management, quarterly and year-end audits.

This position has a hybrid schedule with remote and in-office days dependent on accounting cycle.

Specific job Responsibilities:
• Manage and validate data inputs from distributed operations into accounting solutions
• Monitor and analyze daily and weekly accounting processes and workflows – both automated and manual
• Responsible for the maintenance of restaurant and corporate level general ledger accounts and trial balances
• Preparation of multiple GAAP-based financial statements and supplemental reports
• Responsible for the accurate and timely reconciliation of certain key accounts
• Responsible for the preparation of journal entries and other aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and yearly close process
• Responsible for specific SOX financial accounting controls and ensuring compliance during all weekly, period-end and annual tasks
• Responsible for expense and budget variance review and reporting
• Assist with external and internal audits
• Prepare various financial and operational reports both scheduled and ad hoc
• Assist with budget and forecasting functions

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting – Good working knowledge of GAAP
• Minimum 1-3 years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience using Dynamics SL, Workday, or equivalent accounting packages
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office including advanced Excel skills

• Restaurant/Retail/Hospitality industry accounting experience
• Experience with Internal Controls and Sarbanes-Oxley controls implementation and audits
• Experience with point-of-sale systems and back office management software
